Into the Future!

Your editor trades his tropical climes for a sub-zero freeze...

“A journey is like marriage. The certain way to be wrong is to think you control it.”

~ John Steinbeck, from Travels with Charley (1962)

Joel Bowman with today’s Note From the End of the World: Buenos Aires, Argentina…

No time for rambling preambles today, dear reader… we are hard at leisure, preparing to journey into the future!

In forty-eight hours, give or take, we will be soaring over the international date line, passing from west to east, summer to winter, today to tomorrow...

That is, we will trade the tropical climes of Buenos Aires (captured above, in San Telmo, for your viewing pleasure…) for the sub-zero freeze of Tokyo, Japan.

As we type these words, dear wifey organizes shinkansen train tickets, downloads various travel apps and packs luggage for two, while dear daughter cycles through an endless wardrobe of “what’s cool in Japan, dad.”

Your editor, whose carry-on bag stands woefully empty, who remains endlessly uncool, knows nothing of where he is headed, and will gladly go where he is told, writes to you, instead...

We will check in with you once we are safely ensconced in our Ginza shoebox, before we head out to the the snowy mountains to experience the famous “Japow.” (Yes, we had to Google it, too!) In the meantime, please enjoy our musings from the week past…

But first! Notes from the End of the World is an independent, reader-supported publication. If you enjoy these musings, please consider joining our growing community today…

Final Notes…

We are grateful here at Notes for the generous support of our members, who value independent writing and are happy to be part of the pushback against the mainstream media’s mono-messaging.

If you are not already a member, but would like to join our growing community of radical libertarians, skeptical independents and fundamentalist free speech advocates, please consider becoming a Notes member, here… for less than 20 cents per day!

The more members we have, the higher we rank on the Substack leaderboards. And the higher we rank, the better our visibility across the Substack network. By supporting our work, you help us reach more readers, delivering the message of Free Markets, Free Minds and Free People.

Whatever you’ve got going on this weekend, we trust you’re in good company and fine cheer.

Stay tuned for more Notes From the End of the World

Cheers,

Joel Bowman
