Live Event - Noon, EST
Your Invitation to Next Saturday's (Dec. 9) live discussion: The Death and Resurrection of Literary Fiction
Dear Reader,
“We tell ourselves stories in order to live.”
So wrote the late essayist, novelist and irrepressible noticer, Joan Didion. It’s an important statement, purposely (and characteristically) counter-intuitive.
But what is so important about stories, anyway? How has our narrative ability, unique in the animal world, shaped the way we understand ourselves and our communities? What do our age-old archetypes tell us about who we really are, our true nature?
And more immediately, given the rapidly changing world around us – from anti-social media and digital devices, Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) and the infinite scroll, creeping censorship and attenuated attention spans – what does the future hold for one of our oldest, most treasured traditions?
If we can’t tell ourselves stories… how do we examine ourselves, our follies, our foibles, our human condition? How do we really live?
Join us next weekend, Saturday Dec. 9, at noon EST for a special LIVE EVENT: The Death and Resurrection of Literary Fiction, hosted by Anya Leonard, founder and director of Classical Wisdom (aka Dear Wifey).
Best of all, it’s FREE and you can register with your email address, below…
We’ll be touching on plenty of timeless themes… love and loss, life and death, spring and rebirth… and discussing how our storytelling ability has helped guide us through some of our darkest times.
PLUS: All those who register will be automatically entered into our book giveaway to win a copy of our newest paperback novel, Night Drew Her Sable Cloak.
Can’t make it on the day? Fear not! Everyone who registers will receive a recording of the event afterwards.
We hope to see you there!
Cheers,
Joel Bowman

Is Sable Cloak ever going to be on Kindle?
Joel,
You and Anya are my absolutely favourite couple on Earth.
You may have some Contenders...Somewhere.
But no one has even come close.
( I am sure that You Two have your Dust-Ups and moments of Doubt. But you really are The Yin and The Yang that completes the Circle)
Keep Going
