Dear Notes Member,
I write to you directly today, from down here at the End of the World, with some exciting news regarding your membership.
As you no doubt know, we’ve been following along with what we’re calling “The Greatest Political Experiment of Our Age.”
Having lived here in Buenos Aires for 14 years, we’ve never seen anything quite like what we’ve witnessed in the past 9 months.
The tendency toward free(r) markets, free(r) minds and free(r) people is truly extraordinary. In under a year, the country has moved...
...from a notoriously bloated, collectivist government... to a nation refocused on individual rights and freedoms...
...from an economy on the brink of hyperinflationary death spiral... to sound fiscal policy and balanced budgets...
...from a political and economic basket case... to a more open and welcoming market, one that aims to be the “beacon of liberty” over the next century...
Even on a purely human level – speaking with folks in grocery lines, in taxis, on the streets – the turnaround is noticeable. Where there was once a deep, embedded cynicism, there is now cautious optimism among the long-suffering porteños. It’s great to see.
And the most exciting part is, we’re only just getting started...
If our hunch is right, this long-dormant economy may be on the verge of entering a brand new Age of Abundance. And that means exciting opportunities for freedom-loving people everywhere.
From investments in the country’s vast natural resources... to unlocking the potential of its financial markets... to a burgeoning tech and development sector... to real estate and even lifestyle opportunities...
For those who have been following the story here closely... who know the importance of this experiment and the value of free markets, free minds and free people... the opportunities will be immense.
Which is why we’re taking our Notes project to the next stage...
As you may know, we’ve been covering this story now since the very beginning of this year, right here in these pages. And now, what started as something of a curiosity... a labor of love... has developed into a full time project.
We now have readers in all 50 US states... and across 135 countries around the world. And just recently – thanks to you! – we reached the Substack Bestseller List:
You might even say, things are getting pretty serious. And so, in addition to penning your usual Notes, we’ve been working behind the scenes to turn our hobby into a going concern.
To that end, we’re proud to announce the launch of Pragma Publishing, LLC.
(In ancient Greek, “pragma” denoted a kind of practical love, one rooted in logic and duty. Ergo...)
Now, what does this mean for you, specifically? In the beginning, hopefully, zero interruptions to your regular subscription.
In the medium term, it will mean smoother payments, additional payment options, easier customer service, and a brand you (and your bank) can recognize and trust...
(Some readers may recall the “Bowman Pub” debacle from earlier in the year... where no shortage of your fellow Notes members wrote in to inform us that their bank was alerting them to charges from a watering hole in Australia named after your editor. Funny... in retrospect. Moving along…)
Important:
PLEASE NOTE: You may see Pragma Publishing, LLC. on your credit card statement in future billing cycles.
And from time to time, you may also see the name Pragma Publishing, LLC. in our official communications, whether it’s in an email address or a description in a confirmation.
Please remember, Pragma Publishing is still us, Notes From the End of the World. It’s just the… well... pragmatic side of our work.
On that note, we have big plans for Pragma Publishing, LLC. in the coming year, about which you, our dear member, will be the very first to know.
[HINT: We have in mind a series of live, members-only events that will give you the inside track to taking advantage of exactly the kinds of changes we’re covering in these Notes. Watch this space…)
Again, thank you kindly for your support. It’s been an incredible ride so far, and this is only the beginning.
In the meantime, stay tuned for more Notes From the End of the World...
Cheers,
Joel Bowman
