The reason the Australian Pollies won't be affected by their regressive tax on super is that they do not have super accounts as such. They get their pensions from General Revenue. And they get it regardless of any other paid 'work' they might do, unlike the rest of us retirees who will lose part or all of their pension if they earn too much money.

The old rule of never letting anyone not affected by financial decisions make them, holds true here.

The Australian politicians should be forced to pay tax on unrealized gains regardless of income level or investment status. Something tells me they would repeal the tax somewhat quickly.

I felt serene as I joined you along the short trek down the walkway toward the azure waters ahead. However, I couldn‘t help but notice the graffit scrawled on the wall. I’ve noticed that defacing walls seems to be fairly popular around the globe, but especially so in Europe. I once asked a tour guide about the phenomenon. She explained that locals didn‘t see it so much as an act of defacement, but rather art. Really?

Yes, it’s a terrible blight and evidence of a certain cultural degeneration. Especially when it’s found on buildings that, themselves, ought to be revered at pieces of art. Sad.

Someone has to pay for the folly of Covid, it might as well be everyone but the fools who created the problem.

Classical wisdom created Western civilization where peace to some degree flourished for a short while. Knowing, acting, having the will to live in peace with one another is not for all men, it is for the few, the rest thrive on chaos, control and slavery. The Classical Wisdom Project is a noble one, but alas one was created too late we are headed over the falls. This go around when the survivors float into calm waters there will be nothing left to build upon.

This is not a pessimistic view to the contrary God is going to intervene, those on the right side of his people will be blessed those in opposition, will cease to exist. The new world order will be founded on Eastern Wisdom where in all revealed by God will be severed from religious corruptions. True peace will reign forever and ever, or God western civilization claims to be founded upon is a liar.

Man was granted 120 periods of time (Bare'syth/Genesis 6:3) , a period of time in the Hebrew calendar is 50 years or a Yowbel meaning "lamb of God" corrupted by religion to Jubilee. 50x120=6000 years. Adam cast out of the garden starting the clock. Using the signs in the sky or the eclipses noted in the historical record along with the historical accounts of Rome and to a degree the rabbis up unto the influence of the Rambam we are in the last millennium approximately 8 years from 6000 years granted to mankind.

Torah prescribes every 50 years is special time, all slaves are freed, all land is restored to the former owners, all debts are forgiven. The system is reset, generational wealth coupled with lifelong servitude in paying off debts did not exist in God's system, true wisdom. Every person including all working people and even to beast of burden was granted a day off.

Torah remains unknown few have interest. Imagine receiving a personal letter from the Creator of all things, opening it reveals a strange language, but simple language if some effort applied.

A language where all concepts are associated with what is know, what can be seen, touched, tasted, where there exists only 1000 words with all others as compound words where verbal roots define the nouns, where verbs are not stuck in time but eternal.

Would you not seek out this language, and all that could be known about God? The answer for the last 4000 years has been no. Mankind has sought his own way through the darkness.

There is no God. All religious texts were written by human beings, almost exclusively men, in the cultural and scientific context of their time (a fact which many believers foolishly refuse to accept) and often to curtail the freedom of women.

Yes they were written by men, but "inspired By God. Man is not "smart "enough to write these things out of his own Head. Nuff said on My part!

Are you swimming in the water on view in your video? It looks a bit wild to do laps there. "Go touch grass" is a great phrase. Funny, here in San Antonio, TX, the water department is actually rewarding people who get rid of their grass and plant xeriscape because of the Stage 5 drought. Full St. Augustine grass is so much fun to run through barefoot! Loved your description of your struggles with your cast. I've been disabled several times and it sure gives one a better perspective on life doesn't it? An attitude of gratitude will keep our feet touching the grass.

An “attitude of gratitude.” Love it! I’ve been swimming all over the island (it’s pretty small, with lots of lovely beaches). The water is still a bit cold, but we’ve managed to beat the summer crowds…so far. Cheers!

Today's missive is certainly about man's view. He complains , but fails to see the light. If We all lived on "cloud nine", We would not learn a darn thing. Neither about ourselves nor man kind. Thanks , Joel, for this , another eye opener.

Joel, getting back to basics, great essay. Unfree minds, unfree markets and unfree people. ("support the case for liberty in your own backyard", thats what our previous generations fought for up until the last 50 years ago in the great U.S. of A).. Today its about the individual's

rights and hand outs from the government. (i'm generalizing). Instead of for the common good of all the people. To the people who wish to live in a socialist country, verses a free country with liberty, take your pick there are many socialist or communist countries in the world to move to. Thanks again Joel for keeping us informed and on the liberty road.

Agree all religious texts were written by men, and for the purpose of controlling and fleecing their flock, while most all are man centered.

However, I have to disagree with your claim, "There is not God" you make statement while providing not a single iota of evidence. To say there is no God is to say there is no Creator. Everything sprung from nothing, chaos became perfect order on the sub atomic level. Not withstanding, DNA is a three dimensional language, wherein the ordering of carbon atoms creates totally different life forms in both male and female form able to reproduce. Moreover, chaos came to order forming life and a perfect system to support all life. The planet decided, to support plant life which in turn acted as a filter cleaning and filtering the air required for life. This while some plant life chose to order itself acting as food, while other plants as poisons. Every living animal chose to split into differing species, again of male and female. Science cannot prove there is no God quite the contrary every new discovery proves the universe even more complex and orderly. Simply put order cannot come from chaos. The earth was described as tohuw, bowhuw and choshek or respectively formless, chaotic, and dark.

To actually believe there is no God, requires a massive faith, literally more faith than would be required to believe all religions are equally valid. The other possibility exists, you're a damn fool, or simply totally irrational and unable to process evidence and reason.

Dowd/David sung about humans like you: Psalm 53:1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”

They are corrupt, and have committed abominable injustice;

There is no one who does good.
