Of course I read this. I can’t “like” it, though. What’s likable about this condition? How does one feed family, friends, oneself in this enclosure? Head for Rio I guess.

The resolve of the people here is strong… they know they have a lot of hardship ahead, but most I speak to are determined to meet the challenge.

Joel, thank you for these updates. We’ve begun looking for options outside the US, and your “boots on the ground” reporting from BA is invaluable in our ongoing research.

No worries, Aaron. These pages will roam further than this particular End of the World, too. This year we'll visit four continents, from which we'll report our various findings... such as they are. Stay tuned...

The solution is electronic transfer into USDC, USDT, or Bitcoin. Dogecoin is a safer bet than the Peso, one would assume merchants will stop accepting the Peso at some point, and yes the Argentines are resilient they're ok working for worthless paper.

Yes, no surprise that crypto caught on quickly here... and that the exchange rate has always been the market rate (as opposed to the nonsense "official" rate the previous government held to be true by fiat). Milei is open to crypto and currency competition in general. Imagine, letting free people decide their own medium of exchange... almost like, the separation of State and Money.

You frighten me! I can’t find the door marked Exit. Fools are everywhere and a fool believes he is different and “it's the other people who are hell”. As we both believe in Voltaire’s wisdom:” It's difficult to get a fool to free himself from the chains he reveres.” Oh, Captain, my Captain etc.

Looking forward to learning when you see some daylight.

Do your think Milie will sell the entire country to Elon Musk, or maybe give him an option to buy it if he can replace the fast devaluing peso with the much less slower but still devaluing dollar?

I would like to hear that inflation is falling in Argentina. It is darkest before the storm I saw below seems appropriate comment. But thinking that the peso has a large death wish on its head, it makes sense that it would lose even more value as its death becomes all the more obvious.
