Your comparison Between MS and DC tells most of it. But I am still confused; why is it that DJT, who seems to want to start the process of cleaning up this mess along with a concerned unpaid volunteer, gets nothing but aggravation and violent resistance, but no one else steps up to fix it? Oh, everyone has something to say but no balls to stand up and do something. Why is that??

Probably because most people, especially those on the left don't see the debt as a problem. It will take all of the house of cards to fall and create real misery for them to wake up. Like Argentina did with 1000% inflation for eg.

Unfortunately all the money DOGE is supposedly saving us is being spent bombing Yemen and supporting Israel.

I get it. Let's let yemen continue to attack commerce on the seas, and u s navall vessels. They've been doing it for a very long time. Remember the u s s cole?

What are US naval vessels doing there? The Houthis asked Israel to stop the genocide in Gaza. Why not just stop supporting Israel? Speaking of attacking US ships perhaps you've forgotten that Israel attacked the USS Liberty and murdered US sailors. Plus - Israel debt to GDP ratio is half of ours. Why can't they borrow the money themselves?

Because most americans are ignorant. Ignorance is curable, so the real reason is they want to remain ignorant. Most "christians" believe that the Israel of the Bible is the same Israel in the middle east. They are provably not, but most have their favorite delusions. Crazy, huh?

Alex, Gods plan will be fulfilled through the Jews, and Israel.

6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:

7 Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

8 That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

-Romans 9:6-8

God evicted these fake jews at least four times from His land, the last time being in 70 A.D. However, not one of His people perished, as they saw the sign, the Roman standard outside the city, and when Rome withdrew, all the Christian jews left the city. The current 'Israel' was founded in murder, not by God, see the documentary Tantura, available for free at https://archive.org/details/tantura_2022 The documentary was made by jews, BTW, which shows that they are not all bad. Here is a quote from the documentary:

I think the self image of Israel as a moral society is something I haven't seen anywhere else in the world. How important it is to be exceptional. We are the Chosen People. This is part of the Israeli self-identification as a very superior moral people, and I grew up on this "the most moral army in the world." And I think it's very hard for Israelis to admit they commit war crimes. Because, basically, the project of Zionism has a problem. It's a tragedy in a sense. Jews had to escape from Europe to find a safe haven, but you cannot create a safe haven by creating a catastrophe for other people.

To your question, the answer is spending will decrease.

But, because the cuts are so haphazard depending primarily on which Federal agency Musk's teenagers attack, John Q Citizen has no idea if they will adequate much less if they are part of a well thought out plan.

What's missing is the plan to increase tax revenue -- not by empowering the government to snatch more -- but to enable risk-taking entrepreneurs to produce and sell new products and services that collectively constitute new wealth for the government to tax.

I understand growing ourselves out of a deficit It happened under Reagan. The problem is they just keep spending us into the hole. We need

A balanced budget amendment. Currently, it's a circular fire squad.

Or how about "pot" for every American. Flooded with fentanyl pot et all. Reminiscent, perhaps of the opium wars promulgated on the Chinese by the British empire? They have the long memories and have learned well. We had better wake up..

What isn't being said is how fast the deficit continues to rise. The deficit for February ( yes - just February) was just over $1T - that is a "T" meaning Trillion good ol' USofA $. This ol' man's view is prepare thy self. A recogning is coming and it isn't going to be good. Got Gold?

Joel, great article as much as the truth does hurt. The white knight with the red cap can't help but have some positive results ( I think closing the border was positive for us), but he is not a leader of the people, by the people and for people in just my opinion. I wonder what a historian would give as odds of another President Milei (clone) coming along in the next 10 years. i guess in the U.S. of A. we need to tie everything down and ride out the long overdo perfect storm we created.

Yes Joel, our parasitic system, created by the top parasites( elected democrats), will be putting on a show in these next few months and calling it a fight for Justice. Yes, our once great Democratic Party has turned her back on America and our people to fight for continued dependence and slavery for those too ignorant and mentally unstable to understand what they protest for. Unfortunately, it has devolved into the party of mental illness and you just need to watch and listen to those in charge to see how truly mentally unstable they are. We live in very similar times of the Bolshevik and Nazi as both were allowed to come to power through violence and intimidation. The new leftist democrat party is just that, and if you don’t believe it, just wait a few weeks to witness the incredible insanity of our leftist. In the meantime, continue enjoying life and buy the dip in Bitcoin 😊

Can it be fixed?

Expand full comment
Alex's avatar

No. Selfishness is not sustainable; you can't fix the problem caused by selfishness with the same selfish nature that caused it. See Discourse On Agape, available free here: www.discourseonagape.org. The problems of the US, and the world, are not technical, but 'political;' i.e., caused by selfishness. God will have a people that solve the problem, but the vast majority will reject it.
