Hola Joel, Add the long suffering country of Macedonia to your list of countries where Notes from the end is the world is read. From the “other” end of the world … long live liberty, dammit!

All you need to know about the "debate": at no point did either of the candidates or either of the hosts utter the phrase, "federal debt"....

When I saw the "Net Zero" heading, I thought it was going to be about the ideas that would come out in the US Presidential debate tonight. But it was still too good.

Joel .. welcome back .. probably the best of your daily missives since your world jaunt .. well done especially quoting Goethe .. wow not many world citizens have a clue who he is ! in fact until the once famous Muhammad Ali quoted him as perhaps the greatest mind no American had never heard of .. yes like so many other great minds (Humbolt Missen Planck Gauss) all eliminated from the 'text books' of education be design after WW2 .. naturally the victors get to write their version.

Regarding your analogy of the this speech about to commence it's got nothing to do with freedom as the entire exercise is a propaganda feat .. only the Super Bowl is a true analogy for the Roman Colosseum .. the rest is just a contrived picnic to sell junk .. foods cars services all of no value!

Debate 🤔 what’s to debate? Maybe an economic collapse 10x or 100x worse than the Great Depression? Either way we definitely have the two best candidates in America to drive us there. Enjoy the ride😊

Exciting and propitious time to live in Argentina. If Argentina was a stock, it would be a strong buy coming off a very long term bottom. Enjoy the rise.

From the perspective of the grifters, leeches, and zombies within State and Federal government of which I'm well acquainted with a few. These tireless paperer shufflers, would ask Trump, "What about us, now our we to feed out children?" One of those asking is an old high school chum, he's approaching late retirement at 68 (it pains him to leave such a cushy position). The $250k salary from the EPA, car, travel all over the world, food, pension, healthcare, and all manner of perks while clocking in at 4-5 hours a week for the last 25 years and never during the entire Covid scam.

I wondered how did the sun not fall from the sky, without the EPA during Covid? For that matter most Local, State, and Federal government was shuttered during Covid.

Many Americans missed out on the closest thing to true freedom during the Covid lockdowns. With no appreciable police presence on the street, no courts, and no possibility of prosecutions. Essential workers like myself, were free to speed down the highways, ignoring all the rule, park where we felt, and tread where we'd never think of trespassing. iAll this while prices doubled, and consumables were in short supply. Any calls to reign in the new class of "Gougers" went unheard, customers were elated when we answered the phone and risked out lives fighting through the cloud of Covid virus. I'm sure there's a new virus ready in the wings, I for one welcome its arrival.

How can a staged, rehearsed comedic exchange between two people be called a debate?

Although both lead to tears, laughing is still better than crying.

Totally bias moderators, 'fact" checked Trump, but didn't fact check Harris who has a microphone/speaker in her ear ring. What a total joke of a debate. The American people should be able to see right through their ruthless, dishonest, corrupt conduct for this debate. BOYCOTT ABC News forever.

I've read that Argentina's gold has been moved to London. Seems as if it would be safer now than with the previous administration. Did this really happen?

Something about the debate that probably went unnoticed, othher than the obvious gang up on Trump, while letting Kamala lie and missinform. The debate was paid by (commercials) a majority endorsements of Blackrock / Blackstone (a play on the ancient interpretation of dark heart). A company that owns both sides of the debate spectrum. According to the playback of Marxist Communism, we are at the brick of a collaps. Either the powers take over to form communism or take the approach seen with Javier Milei. Blackrock will definitely lead us to communism/socialism, where the people become renters and own nothing. I'm not as well versed on such topics as you Joel. I would love to hear your take on this.

I wonder; does Argentina have entitlements for social security, medicare and medicaid, veterans benefits, etc. That will be about 2 trillion please. Let us reason together that America is broke that's why as gold goes to the moon the value of your dollar is going down the tube. Wise men watch credit markets and to hell with all the gumbo. God's blessings to all.

The problem with the Electoral College: The way that it is set up is really a mockery to the rural communities and Counties of every state. Unfortunately, the vast majority of large cities in this country seem to be very Liberal. However, when you look at the rural communities and counties outside of the big cities, they are very conservative. The problem is the big cities population greatly overwhelms the rest of the particular state that they are in and the rural communities collectively don’t have the population that the big cities have. Then the big cities continue to grow with more and more people moving in to them. Giving them more and more control over the various States.

This probably worked fine in the earlier years of our country but somewhere in the early 1900s the picture began to change just as a an example, greater Chicago is 10 million people New York City is 10 million people, greater Denver is around 4 million people, greater Phoenix is around 5 1/2 million people, you can go state by state, and for the most part, the case is that the big cities control the entire state because of their overwhelming population.

My suggestion is that the votes should be counted county by county, and then, if the county votes liberal, it counts as one electoral college vote per county on the other hand, if it votes conservative, than it counts as one electoral college vote. This would actually be a much more fair way of determining the winners and losers in our elections.

And such an idea should also be adhered at the state level to allow the counties collectively to have as much power as the cities if not more. One only has to look at a colored map of the red counties around the country as they voted in the past National Elections versus the blue counties around the country, and one will readily see that most of the country is red and conservative. However the Conservatives have largely lost their Voice and their Vote due to the unfair setup in todays world.

Big cities have had their way for way too many years. It is long past due to correct the lopsidedness of our system time for a change before the Conservatives lose Total Control over being able to Win in the State and Federal Elections.
