I watched Glenn Beck interview President Trump a few days ago and energy was one of the topics discussed. President Trump stated that just due to AI alone and its tremendous requirement for energy, the U. S. would have to double its electricity production over the next several years. Companies using AI will now have to also become electrical energy production plants. And if the plans to ban internal combustion engines and replace them all with EVs go into effect, just how will we meet these demands for electricity? I’m pretty sure it won’t be from renewables.

"Central planning works... socialist utopias are real... printing money makes people rich... "

When will people understand that none of this ever works?

Trusting your survival on energy to any centralized energy source should scare the hell out of you. Or at least concern you? Are we the carbon they want to eliminate?

On another another subject, What is going on with this guy's eye?

Yes brother taco, it’s been so obvious for us logical, rational and God loving people to see that exact objective by the most corrupt, demented and psychotic Party of mental illness…

Capt Cardboard and his ghastly little Ed sidekick here in Blighty will simply plough on regardless... At least they are predictable, unlike the holy net zero grail they worship.

Equation whats that ! Leave it to the big thinkers we have our own here in the great white North. Should be interesting coming from our newly elected C.banker as prime minister. He once made the comment that 75% of fossil fuels need to remain in the ground and stated; sometimes you have to crack a few eggs to make an omelete.

Several months? It could possible take several months for investigators to determine what went wrong?

I think you figured out the problem in just the amount of time it took to type two paragraphs, suing one hand, and possibly just one finger at a time.

Maybe you need to offer the dim bulbs on the Iberian peninsula your services for a paragraph or two, as you tell them what they did wrong. Or maybe dear daughter can tell them.

The election this weekend in Australia will be a litmus test for the green revolution. If the incumbents win, the nation is doomed to the net zero path for at least another three years.

It's really funny that they were trying to display these alternative energies in such a fantastic light and even knowing this was all coming they couldn't stop the outage. They'd spent billions and wanted to display the success to have it last 9 hours. Did they do a cost analysis?

Don Hrehirchek's avatar

That would never come to their mind to do a cost analysis. But then there are crooked bean counters!

It's wild how folks chase after distractions instead of tackling real issues. Ignoring problems only magnifies them down the line. Let's see more transparency and less finger-pointing when things go sideways.

The lack of transparency is the problem due to a corrupt media that keeps the sheeple distracted 🤔

I hate to be a party pooper, but...I like solar. The up-front cost is high, but you can get off the grid (i.e., it's decentralized power - see what I did there?), and not have an electricity bill for years. I have put together systems for myself and customers; it's really a no-brainer. The panels have come down in price so much that some are making fences out of them - fences that produce electricity.
