Even those of us in the US are starting to see and understand how unproductive government is. They seem to produce only two things: Paper currency units and war.
First, they produce the currency. Then they inflict sanctions against others and say, "You can't use this!" Then they decide that they always have to look for someone to declare war upon. And they really fight all they can to make sure that they win those wars, because governments aren't supposed to lose wars. Yet, somehow, they don't win. They just throw away more savings than they ever built up in times of prosperity, before they say that they didn't waste as much as they expected to.
There is in January 2025 many a cry out loud to 1984 is it here?
Putin, his oligrachs, their brainwashed head nodding foot soldiers and the ongoing Russian damnation of serfdom is alive, real and so long entrenched in Russia, it is source of the grossest Stalinist evil, now aligned to Islamic fanatical terrorism, North Korean slavery, and Chinese global elite megalomania.
It took Churchill to call out Hitler and we still don’t appreciate, far too often how close it was, for the outcome and potential scenarios that led to WW2, that would have us having no democracy albeit fraught, but so very different if German fascism had prevailed.
I thank the lord so often, my father volunteered to be a minesweeping lieutenant for the British Royal Navy. Dangerous and frightening including the allies Italy invasion, nearly resulting in me never being born !
He also was an eclectic reader of history, a thoughtful agnostic but recognised and accepted a well know biblical quotation and teaching from another Joel..
Joel 3:10 New Century Version (NCV)
“Make swords from your plows, and make spears from your hooks for trimming trees. Let even the weak person say, “I am a soldier.”
We cannot ignore realities that are daily events, that are factual and abide with us in 2025, by reverting to woke pacifism and as Aussies are inclined to say too often, “ She’ll be Right!”
Apathy and day dreaming when evil abounds will not end well in 2025 and beyond, and it will NOT BE ALRIGHT.
Hey Joel -- some of those look like Eucalyptus trees, which I have seen in the US, Africa, India, and obviously Australia. Would these have originated in Australia?
Eucalyptus trees were introduced to Argentina in the 1970s because of their ability to tolerate frost and grow straight stems. They were introduced to Peru in the last century for their quick growth and use as firewood.
Eucalyptus trees are native to Australia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, and the Philippines. They have been transplanted to other parts of the world by humans
Thanks, Clem. I knew they probably came from Australia. where their ability to reach water made it possible for them to thrive. I had forgotten they were in Peru, but now that you mention it, I have seen them there and for the same reason they thrive in Australia -- water.
Looks very much like my country, just replace the wood posts and gates with steel and you wouldn't know the difference. (Aussie termites make short work of timber structures).
Joel, enjoyed the article and the comments from the people. Your comment" A land so rich it takes a whole government to spoil it...". It sums up what the U.S.A. was, and the reason it is the opposite. It simplifies our current situation, no more discussion. Just take the land back, its our power.
I am looking forward to the January 8 event. In addition to hearing about where we can invest, I am hoping that this will include investing directly into the companies to actually help them, not just benefit an existing shareholder who is selling their share. I want to help Argentine companies and their families grow now that they finally have the opportunity to do so.
I enjoy the anecdotes that you sometimes write about- what the average man on the street thinks. It’s easy to game statistics, poverty rate has dropped from 53% to 37 % ... who are these people and what do they think. I guess the October mid terms will be a bell weather

What a scam!
Indeed. It’s almost as if the goal is not to “win” wars…but to prolong them…
“We have always been at war with Eastasia.”

Yes , not out of the "woods" yet . But can see the daylight at the end of the tunnel. Hope that this will grow and grow for the people of Las Pampas.
Bloody Nice Driveway!!
Just out of curiosity…what is growing in the fields beyond those brilliant farm gates?
In and around that particular farm, corn, soy, sunflowers and wheat.

Good question! I’ll ask…

Reminds me quite a bit of Eastern Montana - Big Sky Country! Everywhere you look is blue sky. Australia probably has some Big Sky, too!
Looking forward to the next year of your Notes - should be interesting....

Probably not that many trees in the outback, I am assuming?

Always especially love your videos!
