"Diversity, Inclusion, Equity. Diversity to quash the successeful and boost the unable, Inclusion to excuse all behaviors except those aligned with Reality, and Equity the happy utopia when Equality has leveled all things to an undifferentiated goo."

The MSM will not go easily into the dark night. When Rachel Maddow makes tens of millions a year for rabble-rousing, you know why- it attracts viewers. her commentary, plainly, has no value other than that. She is so partisan, so blind to reality, that her show is a sad sit-com, with too much sit and not enough com. With billions in play, the media oligarchs will fight tooth and nail to keep their fiefdoms cranking out cash. But the good news is that 'we the people' don't have to do much at all to bring them crashing down- just stop watching, reading and listening to the empty talking heads who have turned Cronkite credibility into the Morning Joe joke. Close your eyes long enough (but not really very long) and when you open them again they'll be gone.

With you 💯, Joel. I gave up on the WaPo over 10 years ago. Loved Forbes until it focused more on lists and less on deep reporting. Quit The Atlantic after Jolene Powell turned the once great publication into a source of whiny progressive drivel. Never have watched cable and consider the “evening news” on the networks to be a shameful joke. Lester Holt has been an embarrassment for at least the past five years, fawning over leaders who would love to see the end of the U.S. If we stop watching and reading, the ad money will disappear and these wretched sources of alleged news will shrivel and die.

The ad money will never "Dry Up" as the elites on the left support the MSM as a work-around for political contributions. They sponsor these bogus news outlets to spout their lies while writing it off as business ad expenses.

Agreed - we've been being lied to longer than anyone believes. I'm glad so many are finally waking up to the fact. And especially glad to have your Notes to help us along. --Shellie

There are ways to deal with competition. I’m far more concerned with: “R. I. P, Substack”

Agreed. Censorship resistant so far, but plenty of powers-that-be that have a vested interest in keeping people in the dark.

Dear Mr. Bowman, if you think the State Media will disappear quietly into the night, I have a very handsome, and famous, bridge I can sell you cheap. Prepare for blast off.

I don’t expect them to go gently into that good night. Quite the opposite, in fact. And that’s all the more reason to withdraw our attention and support and turn it to more deserving efforts.

Television MSM is so packed with commercials that it is impossible to watch if you wanted to. Until the sponsors go away the lies will continue. The national news ( all three networks) are almost all commercials for health related products. Who is this aimed at? I find all this to be incredibly interesting. The drug companies are the major offenders of course. This brings up a major question which is who are the majority of watchers to the evening news. If we cannot answer the question we need to read more Bonner. If I am wrong please do not read this. Love to all.

hi Joel, going back a few days when you were praising Houston and Texas for it's NO INCOME TAX status. I lived in Texas from 1979 thru 2001. Texas makes up for no income tax by having very high real property taxes. I lived in Tarrant county (fort Worth area). I sold my home for $190,000 before I moved to Arizona. My property tax on the house in 2001 was over $4,000.

I bought a home in Arizona a few months later, in February 2002. The house purchase was around $170,000. My real property taxes for 2002 were approximately $600. Arizona does have a state income tax, but I never paid more than $1,000 a year in my tax bracket.

I am in agreement that Texas is a good state to live in, I just wanted to contribute my 2 cents worth.

Thanks for all you and your team contribute. I have been a member of Bonner letters since 2017.

I have been a Forbes reader for years but have been becoming more and more disenchanted over the last year or two. Today I cancelled all of my subscriptions. I signed up for their financial content. I left over their evolving political views. I wonder why Steve Forbes is permitting this.

Steve Forbes is no longer part of the media company. It was sold off a while ago. If this become a liberal rag. I wouldn't even trust the financials.

I didn’t know that. It’s lost pretty much everything that I valued. There’s much better financial advice elsewhere. Like this Substack .

I think he sold majority control quite a while ago.

It’s the elevation of lying until the end which they hope to squash truth with. We know what side media is on…beware of the spirits of the air!

3:00 — Assassin under suspicion when range finder sets off metal detector.

5:45 — counter-sniper spots assassin on roof. Radios it in.

6:02-6:04 — They still allow Trump to take the stage

6:11 — After enjoying seven minutes to set up his shot, assassin brandishes rifle at cop.

Seconds later — Assassin gets off 8 shots at Trump before he’s shot.

A LEGITIMATE NEWS SOURCE WOULD BE RELENTLESSLY HAMMERING ON THESE FACTS UNTIL THEY GOT ANSWERS. I'M NOT BUYING THE DEI EXCUSE, THIS WAS A DELIBERATE SET UP. THIS WAS MORE FLAGRANT THAN THE JANUARY 6 ENTRAPMENT. DIDN'T TAKE LONG TO DEVOLVE INTO A BANANNA REPUBLIC.

So, there is such a thing as a "diversity, equity, and inclusion 'specialist'". Who'd'a thunk it? And what does it take to be certified as one of those?

Some other things DEI could stand for:

Dumb, Evil, and Insidious

Dangerously Extreme Ignorance

And, if you have a bent toward great cartoons of the past 20 years:

Doofenshmirtz Evil Incorporated.

At the risk of repeating myself (but stick to what you’re good at I say 😆) we are living through the journalistic equivalent of Gresham’s law. Thanks to excellent publications such as yours Joel folk really do have an opportunity to avoid becoming misinformed.

Careful, Joel, you are starting to sound like a MAGA fan. You have said that MSM is no longer trustworthy and may not tell us the facts, may give us falsehoods, and may give us “information” that may skew our perspective. God forbid! Frankly, Joel, I have long known that MSM has not accurately given me the news facts, and have given me “news” that supports the MSM’s perspective, and of course they throw in their opinions that suit their views and maybe not mine. With the attempted murder of Donald Trump, and the MSM’s reporting of this criminal action, I saw the confirmation of my opinion that the MSM is biased, and sadly biased against my personal views of the “news.” Frankly, I believe the MSM’s corruption is the single most significant factor in the decline of the American dream and way of life. I understand that politicians will provide biased viewpoints and I listen to them knowing that I am getting a biased viewpoint. I understand anymore that the MSM are is just another politician giving me “news” that I must first decode. It is sad, Joel, but hopefully my fellow Americans can see the phony state we are in and can decode the “news” to find the truth. Thank you, Joel, for reporting it like it is.

Joel, anyone that's paying attention knows that Trump is the proverbial turd in the Globalist's punch bowl. The folks falling for the Hitler B.S. are the same ones who rushed out to get the Covid jab and boosters. Yes, the Legacy Media needs to be dragged out behind the barn and filled with lead. Much more importantly, the U.S. Government is long overdue for the same treatment. When an unelected bureaucratic agency assassinates a sitting president (November 22, 1963) its time for a reset. It's now sixty years and counting since the coup d'é·tat. All good things come to an end and so do all shitty things. Try as they may they're time has come. Pass the popcorn please :-)
