I keep asking this question, Flier, what has happened to the people who exited the parasite room with the demise of the nine government departments that Sr. Milei dissolved? I’ve seen no reports of revolution. Perhaps there’s hope that if Trump hacks away at the dead wood, they’ll go peacefully and maybe even become productive members of society. The entitlement syndrome cuts deeply into the psyche.

Maybe the “Dead Wood” knows that they are truly guilty in their non-productive jobs. Having previously worked a temporary job with the State of Ohio, I can testify personally, to how unproductive and wasteful the system truly is. I was greatly relieved when the “permanent employee “ returned to work and put me out of a job(after I retrained him). It was mind numbing just to be there. This was back in 2010, when jobs were still hard to come by. I can’t help but think that a lot of these government minions are relieved at leaving these useless jobs. The really lazy and overpaid management will be the only ones kicking and screaming, but, the management class is supposed to “act professionally”, so hopefully they will also go quietly. Well, that’s my optimistic thinking going into the New Year.

Except for three years nine months in the U.S.C.G., (I joined and took an early out to return to college), I’ve never worked in a government job. Once I was laid off in the early afternoon from a job that wasn’t really right for me anyway. I didn’t tell my family right away, I immediately hit the road & looked for a new position. I was hurt, embarrassed, ashamed. Sadly, my daughter called the office and was told I no longer worked there. It was a mistake not letting the family know what happened. The point is I wasn’t going to go on unemployment or be stymied. So I found another job. Employment is not an entitlement. Anyway, getting fired is not the worse thing that can happen to one.

A fair question.

I have not followed developments in Argentina in detail, but I do remember that Sr. Milei promised to bring about his anti-collectivist revolution in part by firing a large number of civil servants. How has that worked out? Trump and his incoming administration have made similar promises in the USA and I find it hard to imagine he will be able to pull it off without hordes of lawyers and labor unions planting land mines in his way, yet I have not read about such things happening following Sr. Milei's taking up the reins of power. Are the labor unions mounting the barricades? Housewives banging their pots and pans together? School teachers refusing to attend class? Please tell us more, Mr. Bowman, about how Milei's administration is being received by the people who have lost jobs.

I can agree tell us more , but He is but one man and cannot be every where at all times. The example of Argentina is a wake up call to the world. This repeat of the story is a good reminder to "wake up".

Any word on whether Milei has a return invite to speak at the WEF conclave this year?

I asked that question with my tongue firmly implanted in my cheek, in case you thought I was serious!

BTW, Joel, thanks for the reminder of that speech at WEF.

Today, Sr. Pres. Milei's courageous challenge to the (elite? no.) effete WEF is even more inspiring than it was when you first published it a year ago.

Thank you, Joel. Well done.

Happy New Year Joel! Thank you for all of your insights and perspectives from The End of the World, it’s always a good read.

The "values of the west" that Sr. Milei hopes to defend are on the ropes in the U.S. Liberals have sold out to the collectivist faction; conservatives have sold out to the Christian nationalists who will take control of government in '25. Neither gives a damn for, nor even understands, the concept of individual freedom. Those of us who oppose both may soon find ourselves saying "First they came for...."

Milei's work is becoming obvious. However the most indoctrinated economists are probably not watching anything but the mainstream news and likely haven't read Milei's speeches. They probably don't even know he exists and most likely are now worrying about how they can save the world from all the debt caused by their ideas.

"As for tomorrow’s outcome, man finds himself serving a life sentence in the present, forever condemned to wait and see…"

Why waste time to "wait and see"? It has all been written. All we have to do is read it and believe it.
