Joel, your range is wide. And you write with both charm and penetration. On matters financial I’ve come to think that if your prognostications of calamity come to pass you’ll somehow manage to induce smiles in your readers even as we grope for life vests. I salute you.
I have ordered “Morris, Alive.” If you someday find yourself in Baltimore, perhaps you’ll inscribe it for me.
Thank you kindly, good sir. I used to live in Baltimore, some lives ago, and return there from time to time still. I’ll be happy to sign a copy for you next I’m in town… provided you let me buy you a beer for your troubles. Cheers!

"We’re going to Da Lat later so we’re required to spend another day here in order to catch the morning bus. To pass the day we took a minivan trip with other tourists to “surf" the white sand dunes near by. Along the road we passed fishing villages and coves scattered with blue-cabined fishing boats as if Neptune himself had rolled a handful of boats like dice on an emerald table and they moored where they fell. Our driver turned down a trail off the main road and headed for the rolling hills beyond. A lake emerged on our left with lotus pads growing on the margins. The white pods and the pink flowers dotted the green pads over the brown water with white-white sand dunes on the far shoreline all framed by a crystal blue sky. We arrived at the entrance to the dunes to be greeted by young boys who would escort us to the dunes for the surfing experience........
I've read all you listed except The Cruise of the Rolling Junk. I don't seem to be able to find a copy to read but it sounds great. Most of the travel books I know besides what you listed are not driving books. Alexandria David-Neel wrote some great stuff and has a museum of sorts in Digne les Bains France. I will try to think of others more relevant...you are definitely stretching my horizons with your excellent writing.

Marvelous. Made me want to grab my surfboard and dive right in. Any idea what year this was published?
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the recos. I was going to include some of Hunter S. Thompson’s efforts… Bill Bryson wrote some humorous postcards from the road, too.
For movies, surely Easy Rider… Bonnie & Clyde… Natural Born Killers…
Wait, I’m sensing a theme…
Here's one, just discovered. This man has traveled. M J Eberhart... M J Eberhart 10 Million Steps among others.
