Debate was like watching two one legged contestants in an ass kicking competition.

Let's be honest, there hasn't been an honest US presidential debate held by any MSM corporation in decades. Part of why I don't watch them live, don't care for podcast journalism coverage or the after the fact MSM coverage. Our free press has been bought out to sell us biased opinions, lies and their ideologies.

I hadn't heard or read that very important point until here in these very notes today! Not one of the debate participants mentioned the federal debt! You have some astute readers, Mr. Bowman.

I heard an interesting point this morning that a handful of very specific counties in specific states will determine the outcome of the election. What this means is the candidates are intentionally vague with no solutions. Brings clarity to these fake debates.

In an election in which neither candidate is really qualified it nonetheless remains that the electorate - the ones that vote - will have to choose one over the other. And we will end up with one of them.

You won't vote, but most of us will. What qualities/criteria do you think we should consider most important in our decision?

I heard a comment that there are three things to consider when judging a society: how they treat children, how they treat the elderly, and how they treat animals. If you are the egg of a bald eagle in the U.S.A., you are pretty secure; not so much for the unborn human. Today we have gender affirmation surgery; only a handful of years ago we called it genital mutilation. Not long ago we called Dr. Jack Kevorkian “Dr. Death”; today we consider doctor assisted suicide to be compassionate care.

Trump and Team frequently sends me donation requests where the visible tagline is “Bloodbath coming,” or something like that. So he overuses wildfire phrases to the point he has become a bit of boy cries wolf, while trying to inform. People that don’t know or understand the issues, are offended by his behavior and personality.

Now Saturday, 15 September. Just finished reading your debate assessment.

It's wonderful. And rich with choice phrases making for a satisfying summary of what many felt but, like me, could not assemble the right words with which to express my disappointment.

I also appreciated the clarifications of two of Trumps more infamous comments. Pity and worrisome that, after all this time, the media misrepresents them

Candidate Harris did score a heavy hit, however, when she pointed out that at his rallies Trump never speaks about the common citizen. It's always about trivialities (e. g. someone's hair; his wealth; punishing the Chinese with tariffs, immigrants eating cats, and other musings)

As you aptly pointed out, it was "like watching two giant forks in a world full of soup."

The moderators were at fault too, foremost for failing to ask for each candidate's solution to redress the debt.

The two major political parties have given us two inferior choices

Agree the debate was a carefully engineered "hit job," were the target set himself up for every cheap and easy shot. They ganged up on a defenseless man, who took no advoce from anybody, and simply went in unprepared. .

As for deficit and debt...Expecting candidates running for high public office to cite the crisis of fiscal and financial irresponsibility; is simply a "fools goal." No candidate is going to say, we need to make changes in our entire government and that means touch some "third rails." No, instead they both are promising more largess from government. Now the problem is so large, there is no spending cure that will pass Congress; hence, we are looking at "Armageddon." Meaning ether default or rampant inflation or both. Sorry. to be so pessimistic, I just do not see the voters agreeing to elect a "real fiscal reformer."
