The reason it doesn't matter is because we'll all be dead soon enough; as Solomon put it, 'all is vanity.' In reality, we will be asleep, since all will be resurrected, either in the first resurrection, of the faithful, or the second resurrection, of the unjust, who will say goodbye to life, forever. satan's lie, 'you shall not surely die,' has definitely been the most successful...

History exists; history is true. Each individual has a history. There is a timeline and within it actions take place. Actions, by all the people, in existence, on that particular, timeline.

Like the song, “A Dream is like a river,” we learn from what’s behind and never know what’s in store.”

Tolstoy meant that history is fake because it is written from the perspective of a few men. Would we have heard of Napoleon if there had been no French Revolution and the Revolution was a spontaneous moment with thousands of players.

Did Trump create the popular movement or is he a product of it. Can you ever put the genii back in the bottle?

“The trouble (primary problem) with Scotland is that its full of Scots.” ~ Longshanks, ascribing cyclical mining-tailings-of-meaning (& final solutions), in Braveheart

“The meaning of life

Camus makes a rather bold claim on the meaning of life: there isn’t one and we can’t make one either. He argues that it is impossible for us to find a satisfying answer to the question of the meaning of life, and any attempt to impose a meaning on the universe will end in disaster, as whatever meaning we pick will be sent up later. He further denies that science, philosophy, society, or religion could ever create a meaning of life that would be immune to the problem of absurdity.”

“Scott Paper was founded in 1879 in Philadelphia by brothers E. Irvin Scott and Clarence Scott, and is often credited as being the first to market toilet paper sold on a roll. They began marketing paper towels in 1907, and paper tissues in the 1930s.[3]

In 1927, Scott purchased a Nova Scotian pulp mill..."

Mutinies many (including one that Mel Gibson was in, yet again…) are the Bounty that the would be “quicker picker-uppers!”mean to imbue with meaning, more liquid-meaning, than the “competitors” offerings - which is to say takings … according to their commercials, written by dripping hagiographers, at least.

For lack of better reference, in history, we seek and find (possible) justification for our actions in the present;

unfortunately, this does not prevent us from repeating the same mistakes…🤭

Having followed my bubbles to the surface, I’m just having a time of it dealing with Xfinity and streaming vs cable: the real dilemma of life 😎. Me thinks diving into the depths of philosphy is better than floating on the surface of so-called technology. “No problem,” chatted the texter from India.

Such interesting questions Joel. Our self referential construction of fictional narratives applies to past, present and future but there’s so much more of the past to play with than our present or futures. For all our stories the actual relationship between reality and our stories is a constant question. I imagine they at least have some survival value or why would they have developed at all? Then again, perhaps that’s just me kidding myself.

This isn't historiography or Albert Camus, but it is something more like the childish worldview of the Arab killer: flat, deaf and Impressively narcissistic. The perfect confession, from the mind of. Joel Bowman.
