Joel, instead of a usual English class, I’m going to have my kids read your dispatches, and look up all the words they don’t know. Helluva better way to expand their vocabulary skills! Well done!
Loved the picture of Boric with his phone. Quite funny comments too. Thanks Joel.
The socialist experiment has failed so often only babies should be fooled by the absurdity. That is why I love to see the failures of the climate change crowd. Norwegian EVs, the largest infiltration of EVs of any country, promoted with free parking and other perks, dropped sales precipitously as the perks started being removed. Their oil use reduction is insignificant. Oh well, just like socialism, it sounds so good to use other people's money rather than hard work and saving and living within one's means.
I was about to give up all hope that democracy as a form of government, could save us from the scoundrels we, the sheeple, put in power to hoodwink us into believing that they will keep us safe from a changing climate, hate speech, gender inequality, and poverty through taxation of the capitalists and redistribution of their ill gotten gains. This was until the miraculous installation of a competent thinking libertarian, steeped in the sensible Austrian School of economic theory by an electorate who had finally seen the light. The question is how bad does a county's economic situation have to become before sense will prevail. The socialist experiment has failed so often that Einstein's saying that doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result is insanity.
The Economist & Time Magazine are great indicators for anyone wanting to short whatever they are pushing. Maybe I’m just too old and cynical but I’m far too frequently staggered by the weapons grade bullshit far too many folk fall for. To end on a postie note another fabulous post, thank you Joel.
Tasteless comment, so to speak, considering that not all that many years ago in Chile a soccer team took PETA to a new level when they began eating each other, as in devouring the flesh but not the bones of deceased team members. Without salt too.
A fascinating and incredible story from October 13, 1972, a Friday. A rugby team from Uruguay was flying to Chile and crashed in the Andes mountains in Argentina, very close to the Chilean border. On December 12 three survivors set off (one turned back) across the mountain. They were rescued on December 21, 70 days after the crash. The remaining 14 survivors were rescued on December 22 and 23. The only way any of them survived was by eating the dead. That is a true story, unlike the fairytale of the uncle eaten by cannibals after his plane was shot down off New Guinea in WWII.
Hi Joel, thank you for your postings and congratulations for your decision to go for your own (although we will miss you at BPR 😀). Allow me a Word regarding the Animals, please do not make fun of them, this has nothing to do with the actual wokeness mania (to which i oppose as well). I do eat animals again (after long time being vegetarian), but with most respect for them and trying to avoid unnecessary harm. We have to give nature the respect it deserves, in all areas. Thank you for considering 😇
I was fortune to visit Chilean friends in Vina del Mar in February. We toured the coast and ventured inland to wine country...such an incredible corner of the world to experience by an isolated northern hemispherer such as myself. My friend's wife works for a Canadian mining company as a media consultant and was laid off due to restrictions on mining imposed by the new regime in Chile. Joel, I'm sure you will be flying Latam to Melbourne.. I have another Chilean friend and her daughter is a graduate of the Chilean Air force and flies that route regularly. Bon Voyage!
Woodside Energy, a big oil and gas producer had a $16 billion development off the Western Australian coast stopped a few months ago because of a spiritual whale that lives in the sea. The whale tells all the other fish where to go and eat and breed. The whale started talking to a young Aboriginal woman who took her complaint to court, no doubt funded by the long suffering tax payer. The judge halted development.
How wonderful, x breed native rights and whales to stop oil product intersecting with climate change, woke,2050 net zero carbon targets. All in 1 case. Go woke go broke
You know there are always two sides. The answer to a complex problem can never be simple. I love nature and most certainly want to guard it from ravenous humans. Wherever we multiply, we seem to ruin nature. But then again, we do need our oil and animals to eat. Can there ever be a perfect balance?

“(he/him)” 🤣 - Joel, you continue to slay in your independent venture, love it!

I'm glad to read that you and your family are full members of PETA.
People Eating Tasty Animals, that is.

To be fair, man is just another animal.
Soylent Green is people.

Makes you wonder how he ever got elected to begin with.

I was buying it till you said the woman took her complaint to court.
Even more egregious, the whale was funded by the tax payer
Another "eye" opener. Thanks for telling and showing a huge difference between a pro wokster and a realist.
I love Chile and Santiago, although I liked Santiago better 54 years ago; of course, oI liked everything better 54 years ago.
