…“ Galileo… or Copernicus... or Darwin.” Including Darwin in this class of scientific icons is itself a farce. Darwin published his Origin of Species in 1859, launching the Theory of Evolution. At the time, no one had the slightest idea of the incredibly complex processes going on inside the cell. More than a century and a half later we cling to the belief that evolution is fact. Today, we daily discover how little we actually know about life inside the cell. The complexity of life is truly mind boggling. Intelligent Design is a far better explanation as to how this purposeful complexity is possible. But debate concerning Evolution vs Intelligent Design is taboo and essentially forbidden. Evolution is true because evolution is true, end of story. “Tasks that require information to accomplish can only be accomplished by someone with that information.”
Joel thank you for stimulating one of the most important conversations and topics we are free to discuss and debate.
“How to resolve differences between our opinions, facts, and beliefs”.
Science, politics and religion all claim to have the answers with their “Truth” and the “Facts”. Yet once people get a belief, understanding or idea, then confirmation bias creeps in to all of Humanity.
Confirmation bias is the tendency to search for, interpret, and remember information in ways that confirm one’s preconceptions. When people fall in love with an idea, they defend it with ferocity, treat it as sacred, seek confirmatory evidence, and discard competing possibilities. Too many believe they understand the concept, the process, and the governing principles behind their favorite idea more deeply than they actually do, confident in a supposed mastery while blind to real gaps.
I wish I had the time to study each of these different concepts. Where do we go from here?
Darwin's idea came at just the right time, as people increasingly desired to get rid of God, and replace Him with themselves. That is now the prevailing thought. I suspect it won't end well.
Many would say that people who spend years sailing around the world to search for and then to draw, record and categorize bugs, beetles and birds is also a scientist.
As a scientific theory, Darwinism would have been jettisoned long ago. The point, however, is that the doctrine of evolution has swept the world, not on the strength of its scientific merits, but precisely in its capacity as a Gnostic Myth. It affirms, in effect, that living beings create themselves, which is in essence a metaphysical claim... Thus, in the final analysis, evolutionism is in truth a metaphysical doctrine decked out in scientific garb. In other words, it is a scientistic myth.
-Professor Wolfgang Smith, University of Oregon, Teilhardism and the New Religion, p. 242
The extreme rarity of transitional forms in the fossil record persists as the trade secret of paleontology. The evolutionary trees that adorn our textbooks have data only at the tips and nodes of their branches; the rest is inference, however reasonable, not the evidence of fossils...gradualism...was never "seen" in the rocks.
-Stephen J. Gould, 1983
At some future period, not very distant as measured by centuries, the civilized races of man will almost certainly exterminate and replace the savage races throughout the world. At that time the anthropomorphous apes...will no doubt be exterminated. The break between man and his nearest allies will then be wider, for it will intervene between man in a more civilized state, as we may hope, even than the Caucasian, and some ape as low as a baboon, instead of as now between the negro or Australian and the gorilla.
-Charles Darwin, The Descent of man, p. 178
A man who has no assured and ever present belief in the existence of a personal God or of future existence with retribution and reward, can have his rule of life, as far as I can see, only to follow those impulses and instincts which are the strongest or which seem to him the best ones.
-Autobiography of Charles Darwin (1958), p. 87
I have read your book with more pain than pleasure...parts I read with absolute sorrow; because I think them utterly false and grievously mischievous - You have deserted...the true method of induction...
[Speaking of the link between the moral and physical worlds]
Were it possible (which thank God it is not) to break it, humanity in my mind, would suffer a damage that might brutalize it and sink the human race into a lower state of degradation than any into which it has fallen since its written records tell us of its history.

The earth is about 6,000 years old. That is provable using the scientific method. Biology's dirty little secret is that the Darwinian evolution theory is dead. Biologists know it can't be true, and they have developed many other theories to "fix" it...which also aren't true. Don't take my word for it, see The Genesis Conflict series by Veith, a former evolutionary professor from South Africa. It's free on youtube, and other web sites, just do a search.
Richard Dawkins? I‘m quite familiar with Richard Dawkins and his writings. I’m thoroughly versed on both sides of the Evolution vs Intelligent Design (ID) debate. Spent years studying biology and getting brainwashed by professors and textbooks on the absolute certainty of evolution. Began to question the dogma as I realized the practical impossibility of natural selection and random mutations being able to account for the beginning of life and the untold number of life species. I would suggest to you reading some books available from Discovery Institute by reputable scientists that offer ID as the more plausible explanation.
Nice try, Clem. I‘ve read all this before. Obviously written by an evolutionist, so the conclusions are not surprising. Every argument presented that ID is not science has been refuted. Whenever “consensus” is offered as proof that something is true, that is a big red flag. And believing that “no more needs to be said” is not what science is all about. In the scientific realm, there is always more to be said and more to be researched. Bottom line, you and I will never agree and that’s okay. That is what keeps true science moving forward.
“In January 2022, a massive underwater volcano called Hunga Tonga suddenly erupted and shot so much water into the upper atmosphere that levels in the stratosphere rose suddenly by at least 10%. It was a genuine one in 100, even 200 year event and was reasonably expected to produce temporary weather changes around the globe. Sure enough, subsequent temperatures showed a 0.3-0.4°C upward spike. “. Normal earth events that have so much more effect on CO2 and weather than all man made objects on the planet. Just fact Joel. For all of you suckers out there that only live and breathe by “ the experts “ how did the vaccine work out for you🤔
Steve L, I am not sure what your definition of temporary is. I read that the moisture would affect the earth for 2 to 3 years! And i think it is being proven correct. Incredible amount of water into the atmosphere.
🤷🏻 🛣️🌟 What in the heck drew you down to the swamps of Houston Joel? This Okie avoids ALL of the urban areas south of the Red River. Best be gitt'n gone as soon as you can...
Haha, thanks for your concern. 'tis family (in-laws) that have brought us hither. We'll be making for the open road soon enough though. Cheers to you and yours!
I find one can never be too cynical... or skeptical... but there were enough holes in the "consensus" position here – and enough fury directed at those who dared ask questions – that surely a more open, honest dialogue is for the better.
But...but Houston doesn't have a hockey team (yet). Until they decide to steal it from their near-North neighbor of Tulsa. Just like they stole all our oil companies, including the aforementioned ConocoPhillips. But that's beyond the point of this article.
I will mention that the doofus who is the United Nations Secretary-General might not have an intelligent fiber within his body. The only thing he could boil in 100 degrees is dry ice. But he won't even try; he is of the opinion that carbon dioxide is a pollutant.
Silly him!
And those greenies don't want the ability of agriculture to produce more food. Just ask any farmer from Europe. The governments of the world seem to be in a conspiracy to destroy agriculture so that we have to get everything in a pill, instead of eating real food.
Global warming might be a smoke screen for the insurance industry that has had its equity raided and instituted re-insurance. An excuse for why they have no money… natural disasters out of control.
ALL the ice (Arctic, Alpine, Antarctic) is melting! It is obvious that the globe is warming. It is not obvious WHY the Earth is warming. Yes, "greenhouse" gases block radiation that would otherwise cool the Earth. The Earth would be a snowball without them. However, there is now so much CO2 in the atmosphere that the ability of CO2 to block radiation is saturated. The increase of CO2 from a pre-industrial 300ppm to today's 400ppm should have produced a warming of about 1/3 of a degree C. Doubling the CO2 from 400ppm to 800ppm should produce a warming of a little less than 1 degree C. Methane can have no significant warming effect, because the Earth produces no significant radiation at the wavelengths that methane can block. You ignore the real experts at your peril.
Joel, Your humble Substack must be doing well as to travel around the world like you just did takes mucho dinero. Good for you. You charge a reasonable rate to your followers and I get great pleasure reading your thoughts. Great writing and keep it up. Have a safe trip back home.
Daikan (Park) is the name of the World’s largest Air Conditioning Company. It is Headquartered in Osaka, Japan with offices around the globe (#2 Carrier - Syracuse, New York). The cost of their Air Conditioning equipment in that Houston baseball stadium would have been astronomical (maybe equal to the cost of all the electrical infrastructure to include electrical equipment, high & low voltage wiring, switch gear, lighting, appurtenances) thus their name is on the Field (maybe for a small discount in first cost and prevention maintenance I would assume).

No taboos in this comment section, my good man. All opinions (especially dissenting ones…) welcome!
I think he meant taboo among secular scientists. Most of them are very close minded.
Science changes, one funeral at a time.

Good one, you beat me to it. Darwin was not a scientist, but a philosopher. Some have recognized that his ideas are found in Hindu philosophy: https://medium.com/@kindattentionpls/darwins-theory-and-hinduism-s-dashavatar-a-fascinating-parallel-89040386ff6f

Actually written by an AI I believe.
If 2+2≠4 then it’s pseudoscience like all Malthusian beliefs ie global warming, overpopulation and “deficits don’t matter” etc

Trump Hires Scientists Who Doubt the Consensus on Climate Change
~ The New York Times
Likely so: a deliberate choice of politically astute "scientists" who have been credentialed for their willingness to prostitute themselves for gain.
Or is that too cynical?
I find one can never be too cynical... or skeptical... but there were enough holes in the "consensus" position here – and enough fury directed at those who dared ask questions – that surely a more open, honest dialogue is for the better.
Agreed indeed. It's the honest part that's hard to identify. Always has been, and the digital age and AI are not making it any easier.
The key seems to have always been
1. studying it out,
2. forming a conclusion,
3. asking the Power Above if it's right,
4. then feeling for confirmation and further promptings
5. repeat.
I'm willing to bet that these scientists have held their position for some time, even in 'global warming' administrations.
Unless you are able to clearly define what they have to gain from opposing the "consensus" i think you might have to admit to a degree of cynicism
But...but Houston doesn't have a hockey team (yet). Until they decide to steal it from their near-North neighbor of Tulsa. Just like they stole all our oil companies, including the aforementioned ConocoPhillips. But that's beyond the point of this article.

Always question authority and remember-life is dangerous.
