Humans, as it turns out, are more easily driven by emotion than with thinking power… or lack of it. Thus, Marx’s “wrongness” of thought ignited the overwhelming rage of envy. The envious can only feel satisfied by getting even, by destroying those who (in their mind) have caused all their suffering. Of course, it didn't help that it wasn't working out for the peasants either before or after their serfdom...

I have often wondered why Marx's boneheaded following has survived for as long as it has and you have given me the answer; Envy, number 4 of the 7 sins an emotion common to our soap dodging great unwashed. This emotion is easily recognised by unscrupulous politicians who sell it to those for votes thus perverting the good intentions of democracy.

“For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.” I'd like to add "and repeated." I think Mencken would approve.

I've buried dogs who were very good friends.

Tell her there would be another Peanut but there's a hamster out there looking for some love.

Your best line of the day was "socialist soap dodgers"... bravo!

Was that yours Joel or did you file the serial numbers off...as I do shamelessly.

I think THE MARKET doesn't just have Things and People. It is also composed of Ideas and Plans and Hopes. The price of each of those items is fluid driven by the demand/need of those who want/need that particular T,P,I,P&H. Price isn't just driven by the cost if there are alternatives in play but by demand.

Happy Friday

I listened to “The Stranger” and “Only the GoodDie Young.” That is some crazy shit!

It does conjure up some deep reflections on values, a can of worms. Like water in a desert, simple is probably best. Some things have intrinsic value, and we are, sometimes, forced to recognize it. Life is a great teacher of priorities and importance. Maybe, like a North Star, we have an innate ability to recognize real value, but it seems to be undeveloped.

"But in the love and joy and value we bring to others along the way", well said and great secret Joel.

As for value, I've always regarded my health as my wealth

Great phrase too: socialist soap-dodgers. Mentally evocative.

Joel .. well said and yes in TODAY"S CONTEXT Karl Marx "sounds like an idiot" but if you're Mamdani trying to manage one of the largest entrapment's of human rats .. where are they to go ? should we send them all to your part of the world? I doubt that your fearless leader would approve .. maybe you'd take the orange trumpet head as your leader eh? CONTEXT is all about living in the PRESENT not the philosophical ideations of the PAST! as those are not going to solve problems in any meaningful time frame ! what part of that equation can't you understand? until we stop denigrating or in your case "whinging" about all those past fools that lead us down a garden path ha! where is the current dickhead leading us ? how would you solve that problem ? your child's 'hamster' is a wonderful analogy of your own stupidity as I notice she was totally in the present with her heartfelt feeling of loss for something she cared for .. so how should Mamdani deal with his conundrum in the middle of a hellhole like the USA where the ONLY thing that matters is $$$ and don't get in the way of anyone trying to get some it .. you're living in La La land down there so go visit LA or Chicago NYC etc and tell the folks there all they have to do is practice good financial management advice of Ludwig von Mises ! do you think the infected deranged POFIT greedy idiots running USA are going to change their behaviour ? sure like the over 300+ guys who subscribed to Jeff Epstein's little diversions .. you gotta be living in a dream mate .. your daughter got more good human sense so start listening to her or even let her write something about what life must ahve been like for her little Peanut? what would Peanut say about his life on the treadmill of life? and then go ask any of the other 10 billion working slaves who's brains have been infected/addicted from to much US reality TV .. it's all about MONEY talks, everything else dies sooner or later but sadly not soon enough for some of us!
