Let us hope that there are enough Argentinians who "will shoulder the full weight of their destiny" such that the clock is turned back and the government shrunk. After all, it was a relatively small minority that changed the course of history in 1776 America. We watch with great curiosity and with the anxious realization that we in the US have our own rendezvous with destiny (a huge, snarling and insatiable leviathan of our own) in front of us...
From sanguinary to sanguine, we watch on, enthralled. Whatever happens here, and the jury will be out for some time, the impetus to revisit "what we thought we knew" is irresistible. Thanks for following along!
The two options you named for changing things (by blood or by ballot) are both under the same paradigm - that the only way for mankind to live is to be ruled by one group or another.
Our task in 21st century is to throw away this violent paradigm just like we did with slavery 200 years ago (that most people thought will be here forever).
What is the new paradigm? You rule yourself.
How to get there? By walking away.
What are the new laws?
Don't hurt others and don't take their stuff.
Since none of us have any rightful ruler (democracy is a ritual for choosing a plantation owner for the next couple of years), we don't have any moral obligation to follow them.
The easiest and less violent way is to disobey and just live our lives as usual.
If only 10-20% of population does that, the system will fall apart. Because the 3-5% of rulers and their enforcers (police, army) will never have the capability to handle this peaceful walk away.
The beauty of my waning years, tinted with some sadness, is that I have the freedom to read and observe affairs of state without the impulsion to participate. Lately I’ve wondered how far the left would go to rid themselves of the “Trump menace.” Today’s essay echoes my musing. What might they do if all their soi-distant “legal” wrangling fails?
I have heard some say recently that President Milei is a puppet of the US government. The comment was made in response to post by David R K Adler on X. From what I can find, he looks like a liberal/leftist reporter. Since you have been watching and talking to people there in and out of the Argentina government, what are your thoughts? If you have already answered this question, point me in the direction I should go.
This I've heard, too... along with plenty else besides. I'm still sorting the wheat from the chaff... and there's lots of both. Stay tuned... and thanks for reading!
Joel, They have a plan and will not be undone until they are undone. As They continue to weaken the blood of Americans with the continued inflow of illegals with their own cultural DNA, They continue to offer up inane meaningless issues, ( Alphabet inclusion, Equity direction, and safe spaces, to name a few ), forefront, while they continuously steal power by denigrating and ignoring our Constitution and steal from us through their continuous delusional misuse of money policy in the background. All they have left to do is to control elections by all means necessary, which if not perfected by 2024 will be so by 2026. At that point, They will bankrupt "We the People" as they take their spoils and buy their future elsewhere. Or they will simply sell us into slavery as they themselves, as part of the contract, will move on.
Question: Is Argentina as invaded by foreign culture as the US?
“America's faith in the integrity of the election system remains shaken by the events of Jan. 6, with only 20% of the public saying it's very confident about the system, a new ABC/Ipsos poll finds. This is a significant drop from 37% in an ABC News/Washington Post poll conducted in the days after the insurrection last year.
ANSWER: when 80% feel that their VOTE DOES NOT COUNT.
We are already there, Sir!
Just need a slight nudge and It’s Katie bar the Door!
Liberty usually exists on a spectrum. It's not black-or-white. Constitutional traditions from Athens and Rome took centuries to develop. Great article, awesome painting of Caesar's assassination.
Great stuff as always Joel, thanks. Let's hope he's not compromised with the likes of the Blackrock et al crew and the IMF. Seems curious he's backed away from the BRICS - cheers.
Excellent observations Joel.

Yes indeed... evolution, not revolution. This is our future... if we stand up and realize it.
Your words, Joel, are like apples falling off the trees with cores of enlightenment.....profoundly delicious! :-)
'Eve'
You are too kind. Thank you!
